What do you think about the following statement?
”Everything happens for a reason."
Do you believe this? Or maybe just sometimes? I personally have mixed feelings about this statement and don’t think it’s as simple as it first appears. After doing today's reading, I have some new perspective and insights (see my thoughts at the end of the post). Let's see if you think differently about this topic after you ready what the Angels have to say about this popular cliche.
Here’s how to play the card game...
1. Take a deep breath and relax.
2. Take a look at the picture of the three cards.
3. Ask your angels and guides for a message that will help you today.
4. Choose the number of the card that appeals to you the most.
5. Scroll down to read about your card and then leave me a comment to tell me your thoughts about your reading.
Card 1: Archangel Raguel - Divine Order
“Everything is how it needs to be right now. Look past the illusion, and see underlying order."
Archangel Raguel is coming forward to tell you that even if your life feels chaotic right now, there is a purpose behind the madness and it’s all going to be ok. Everything really does happen for a reason. Sometimes those reasons are meant to teach you a difficult lesson. And sometimes the reason that challenging or unpleasant things happen to you is that you’ve ignored your own intuition and the Universe is trying to get your attention.
Even if you feel like you’re in the middle of a mess or you are confused and don’t know what to do, Archangel Raguel wants to reassure you that everything is working together for your greatest good. If you struggle to believe this, then ask Raguel to help you stay positive and keep the faith.

Card 2: Archangel Metatron - Prioritize
“Focus on your highest priorities. I will help you get organized and motivated."
Archangel Metatron is a heavenly record keeper. He knows a thing or two about being organized and focusing. He is encouraging you to take a look at your priorities over the next few days and make sure that you are putting your focus on what is most important to you.
Metatron wants you to know that it’s very easy for people to get off track and not behave in ways that support their goals and values, so now is a good time to see if you are doing that in any area of your life. Archangel Metatron wants you to know that this does not mean you are doing things wrong. Getting confused or losing track of your priorities is a vital step in clarifying what really is important to you.
If you find that your priorities are not in order and you need to make a change, then ask Archangel Metatron to help you. He can also help you to clarify your priorities in relationship to your life’s purpose so that you can more easily make decisions that are in alignment with the Universe.

Card 3: Archangel Michael - You Are Safe
“I am protecting you against lower energies, and guarding you, your loved ones, and home."
Take a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief. Archangel Michael is with you. He’s protecting you at all times and he wants you to feel that calm and reassure that he is with you.
If you ever feel scared or unsafe, then call on Archangel Michael to come to your side and help you. Michael can cut away fearful thoughts with his sword and can guard you against any negative entities that thrive on creating fear.
If you feel attacked by negative thoughts, feelings and energies, then you may be attracting these to you. Ask Archangel Michael and Raphael to clear and heal any lower energy beliefs or past traumas that are inviting negativity into your life.
Archangel Michael is with you and protecting you at all times, and he wants you to feel that safety.

Does everything happen for a reason? - My thoughts
Today's reading really made me think differently about this question. When I was younger I agreed with this statement, and then I got bitter and angry so I was very against it. And now I've come full circle and I'm back to believing it again.
I do believe that everything happens for a reason. But that doesn't mean it's a good or positive reason! For example, I broke down on the side of the road and my engine blew up...because I forgot to check the oil in my car (true story!). This unfortunate event had a definite reason which, unfortunately, was my fault.
However, a lot of challenges come our way that our not directly our fault. We are not to blame when shitty things happen. Unless we signed a soul contract before we began this lifetime that something drastic would happen to us in order for us to learn an important lesson.
So, does "everything happens for a reason" apply when someone has cancer or some other awful disease? I think so, but it's often not the best thing to say to someone who's in that situation. Many times this statement implies that it's their fault or that something positive will come out of their suffering. Often, neither of these is true. But there is still a reason that things happen. Especially big things like terminal illness.
Is there a "reason" that my good friend Christina died of brain cancer at the age of 31 and left behind a loving husband and 6 month old baby? I don't claim to know why this happened, but I believe that it was orchestrated by a higher power and that Christina transitioned to heaven when it was her time to go. And, in this case, she really did positively impact me and plenty of others in her graceful faith in such a difficult situation.
In closing, I do believe that everything happens for a reason. But be careful how and when you use that particular statement.
